Vaynor Quarry
Tir Collective produced the LVIA Chapter for the Environmental Statement relating to ‘Review of Old Mining Permissions’ (ROMP) applications for a mineral site extending to 65 hectares crossing the authority boundary between Merthyr Tydfil County Borough and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
A scheme of progressive restoration was developed to provide biodiversity benefits before the completion of mineral extraction and reduce the visual prominence of the quarry. Tir Collective adapted the quarry phasing proposals to bring areas of the site forward for restoration.
