Five Lanes Solar Farm, Wiltshire

The site is comprised of two areas: the main solar farm site and the grid connection site, which is located circa 5.8km to the northwest of the main solar farm site. The main solar farm site covers 63.3ha of agricultural land, approximately 2km to the north of Malmesbury, Wiltshire.  Tir Collective prepared the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for the planning application.

Key constraints of the site include the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), located circa 800m to the southwest of the site, and the potential cumulative effects relating to the surrounding solar farm developments.

We held meetings with the Landscape Officer at the Council to agree viewpoint locations and developments to be included in the cumulative assessments.
